WORLD TRADE CENTRE KUALA LUMPUR (WTCKL) READY FOR THE ENDEMIC TRANSITION PHASE
KUALA LUMPUR, 9 March 2022: Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam bin Ibrahim, the Group Managing Director of the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), has welcomed the Government of Malaysia’s announcement of the ‘Transition to Endemicity’ this April 1st
Although the Omicron variant has caused a surge in the COVID-19 cases, with our high vaccination rate, the majority of the cases are in categories one or two, which are considered mild. In this Transition to Endemicity Phase, there will be no more restrictions on limited capacity, 100% capacity is allowed. With this in mind, WTCKL will remain vigilant and uncompromising in carrying out the SOPs so that the public is kept safe while on our premises. The changes in the SOPs are essential for Malaysia to move forward. It will activate the Malaysian economy and encourage regional growth. This move spearheaded by the government will aid to reignite the supply chains, create employment opportunities, and enable the Business Events (BE) and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industries to regain its pre-pandemic momentum.

These industries will stand united with safety procedures in place, and we are ready to welcome this progressive change. I am confident that this exit strategy will allow us to return to normalcy and bring us to greater heights” said Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam bin Ibrahim.
