World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur Vaccination Center Starting 5th May 2021
KUALA LUMPUR, May 3, 2021: The long-awaited moment for World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) to become one of the vaccination centers has finally arrived. We are committed in assisting the government in the implementation of the National Vaccination Plan. The AstraZeneca vaccination program will take place at WTCKL starting from May 5 to June 5, 2021.
According to the Coordinating Minister of the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme, YB Khairy Jamaluddin, a total of 268,000 AstraZeneca vaccine slots were fully booked in less than four hours from the time of its registration last Sunday. WTCKL will accommodate a total number of 2,300 vaccine recipients on the first day followed by 1,200 vaccine recipients from 6 May to 12 May 2021 and 8000 vaccine recipients from May 15 until the last day of the program on 5 June.
“I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to YAB Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Muhyiddin bin Haji Mohd Yassin, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YB Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Malaysia, YB Dato’ Sri Dr Adham bin Baba, Minister of Health Malaysia, and YB Dato’ Sri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob, Minister of Defense Malaysia for the trust and support in WTCKL becoming one of the national vaccination center. With a total of 13,456 square metres of space covering five spacious halls and 19 rooms, WTCKL has sufficient resources in assisting both the public health and Malaysia’s economic recovery.” says Dato ’Sri Dr Irmohizam bin Ibrahim, Executive Director of WTCKL cum Chairman of Conferences & Exhibitions Asia Pacific Member Advisory Council World Trade Centres Association (WTCA).
Dato’ Sri Dr Irmohizam also hopes for more Malaysians to sign up and register for their vaccination. This goes in line with the government’s efforts to vaccinate 70 per cent of the population to reach the herd immunity threshold which is expected to shield Malaysians in facing the COVID-19 pandemic, hence recovering the national economy.
